The Edge: 975 Feet Above the City
Today, we had a busy day because we were travelling to Melbourne CBD (Central Business District) to visit the Eureka Tower, which is now the second tallest building in Melbourne. It is an incredible 297.3 metres (975 feet) tall and has 91 storeys (including the basement). I couldn't wait to see what the view would be like from the top!
Once we got off the train, we decided to have lunch first. We found a ramen restaurant, and it was brilliant. It was nice to sit down and have something warm before our big adventure. Once we had finished eating, we made our way over to the Eureka Tower.

Before we went up, we got to try something really cool. We sat in these strangely futuristic chairs, put on headsets and headphones, and watched a cinematic tour of Melbourne CBD. It almost felt like we were flying through the city before we'd even gone up the tower!
After that, it was finally time to get in the lift. It shot us all the way up to the 88th floor in what felt like no time at all! The views from the Skydeck were absolutely incredible. We could see buildings stretching for miles, the endless amount of trees, and tiny cars driving far below us.

Then came the best part...ย The Edge!ย We had to put on special shoes before stepping into a glass box that moved about 8 feet out from the side of the building. Me, Daddy, and Jude absolutely loved it and thought it was awesome. Mummy, on the other hand, was terrified! It felt so strange looking straight down through the glass, but it was an experience I'll never forget.
After that, we walked all the way around the Skydeck, taking loads of brilliant photos from every angle. It was amazing seeing Melbourne from so high up. Before we knew it, it was already 5 p.m., so we headed back down, caught the train home, and went straight to bed after another unforgettable day in Australia.
